These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MEGO Platform operated by MEGO Pakistan (SMC PRIVATE LIMITED) (“MEGO”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using MEGO, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. About MEGO
MEGO is an online classifieds marketplace that connects buyers and sellers in Pakistan. Users post listings, communicate, and typically complete deals themselves (often offline). MEGO is an intermediary platform only. We do not own items listed by users, we are not a party to buyer–seller transactions, and we do not provide escrow for C2C item purchases.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under the laws of Pakistan to create an account or use MEGO. By using MEGO, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts and security
- Provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date
- Keep your password and OTP codes confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account
- Report unauthorised access to support@mego.pk immediately
- Registered email and phone numbers may be locked after signup and changeable only through support where permitted
MEGO staff will never ask for your password or banking PIN.
4. Marketplace rules
- You must own or have the legal right to sell or offer what you list
- Listings and messages must be accurate and not misleading
- Meet safely and use common sense when dealing with other users
- MEGO does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or availability of any listing or user
5. Prohibited content and conduct
You must not post, sell, promote, or use MEGO for:
- Illegal goods or services, stolen items, or content that violates Pakistani law
- Counterfeit, fraudulent, or intentionally misleading listings
- Scams, phishing, or attempts to obtain money or data by deception
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, or sharing others’ personal data without consent
- Weapons, explosives, illegal drugs, or other restricted items where prohibited by law
- Spam, scraping, abuse of APIs, malware, or attempts to disrupt the Platform
- Manipulating reviews, loyalty coins, referrals, boosts, or payment systems
- Creating accounts to evade a ban or restriction
MEGO may remove content, limit features, warn, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
6. User content licence
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant MEGO a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on and in connection with the Platform (including marketing MEGO) for as long as needed to operate the service. You are responsible for the content you submit.
7. Paid features, coins, and payments
Basic listing posting is free. Optional paid promotions (such as boosts, featured, or urgent packages), wallet top-ups, and coin redemptions are subject to the pricing and rules shown in the app or website at the time of purchase.
Online payment methods (EasyPaisa, JazzCash, and cards) are coming soon. Until then, coin and promotion availability may be limited to rewards, admin grants, or other methods we enable. See our Refund & Coin Policy for refunds, expiry, and withdrawals.
8. Moderation
We may review, approve, reject, hide, or remove listings and other content; monitor chat for abuse; and take action based on reports or automated filters. We are not obliged to monitor all content in advance.
9. Intellectual property
MEGO branding, software, logos, and Platform design are owned by MEGO Pakistan (SMC PRIVATE LIMITED) or its licensors. You may not copy, scrape, or exploit the Platform except as allowed through normal use of the service.
10. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MEGO disclaims warranties regarding uninterrupted service, fitness for a particular purpose, and the accuracy or safety of user content or offline meetings.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Pakistani law, MEGO Pakistan (SMC PRIVATE LIMITED) and its officers, employees, and agents are not liable for disputes, losses, damages, or claims arising from transactions or interactions between users, reliance on listings, offline meetings, or third-party services. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid MEGO for paid Platform features in the three (3) months before the claim (or PKR 5,000 if you paid nothing), except where prohibited by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold MEGO harmless from claims arising out of your listings, content, conduct, or violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using MEGO at any time and request account deletion via support. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, legal risk, prolonged inactivity, or Platform integrity reasons.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Courts in Islamabad shall have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
